It's been a very sad week here, Eleanor's bunny, Sammy, died on Monday.
I've often mentioned both Sammy and his brother, Monty, who died back in February, on the blog. I even went so far as to grow them their own greens which they both enjoyed eating.
Sammy was such a beautiful boy, very soft and gentle. He wasn't quite so inquisitive and mischievous as Monty was but he did love to hop around the garden and have a drink from the bird bath.
RIP beautiful boy.

I'm sorry Jo, that is sad. Take care x
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's always sad when a much loved pet dies.
DeleteI'm so sorry Jo. I felt I knew Sammy and Monty from your blog and I feel sad too. I was actually thinking of them when I wrote about our own family pets on my last post and how much we love them and miss them when they're no longer with us. Sending love and hugs to you and Eleanor across the miles.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's true, we do still miss our pets even years after they're gone. They're loved and remembered by us.
DeleteSorry about Monty you roll miss him. He looked lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we'll miss them both very much.
DeleteI am sorry for your loss. Beautiful bunny.
ReplyDeleteThank you. He was such a beautiful bunny and he was loved very much.
DeleteI'm so sorry Jo - pets truly are members of the family and their loss is so difficult. My thoughts are with you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The loss we feel when we lose a beloved pet is the downside of having animals, but then if we allowed it to stop us having pets we'd be missing out on so much.
DeleteHow sad. I'm sure that you'll remember him with fondness and a smile. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteWe certainly will. Both he and Monty have been wonderful pets.
DeleteOh, I'm so sorry. He was so pretty and funny
ReplyDeleteThank you. He was a very pretty bunnny, his fur was silky soft.
DeleteSorry to hear the sad news! :(
ReplyDeleteThank you. He was a much loved bunny and he'll be missed very much.
DeleteThose photo's are lovely, as we sadly read this news.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss of a much loved pet.
RIP Sammy
All the best Jan
Thank you. We've got some lovely photos of them both to remember them by.
DeleteOh I'm so sorry, I know what a big empty space these dear little pets leave when they go. He looks absolutely adorable, you were lucky to have each other I think. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteHe was such a beautiful bunny and you're right, they do leave a massive hole when they're no longer here. We'll all miss him very much.
DeleteVery sorry to hear this sad news . He was such a dear bunny.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We've been very lucky to have two wonderful bunnies, they've been lovely pets.
DeleteSo sorry to read that Sammy has passed away......we become so attached to our pets, members of the family.
ReplyDeleteHe looks a sweet boy.........but what a good home he had. Monty and Sammy are the lucky ones....many animals are neglected.
Thinking of you...........know it hurts.
Thank you. I hope they both enjoyed living with us, I know that rabbits in particular are often neglected, put in outside hutches and forgotten about, it's so sad. We have lots of happy memories of them so they'll be remembered with a smile.
DeleteI'm sorry to read this post Jo. The loss of family pets is such a wretched event but no doubt you will have some fond memories to cheer you. Sammy was a lucky bunny to have you to love him and offer him such a five star hotel to live in ((())) xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think it's these times when you always question if you should have pets or not, is it worth it. Of course, the answer is yes, it's a horrible time when you lose a pet but the joy they bring to the family far outweighs the grief you feel when they die. We've got lots of lovely memories of both Sammy and Monty and they'll always be remembered.
DeleteAwwwww....so sorry to hear about the loss of Sammy Jo, a sweet little bunny who had the best possible life. It's always so hard to bear when a beloved little friend passes, but I have to say that your rabbits had such a loving home, if only they all did! It's so hard parting with them though isn't it......huge hugs!xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteIt's terrible when they're not here any more, they do leave such a big hole, but they'll always be remembered.
DeleteOh, that's so sad, I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope Eleanor, and you all, can remember him with lots of lovely memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I know from past experience that the hurt eases as time goes by and we've got lots of happy memories which will definitely make us smile.
