I don't usually blog about the recipes I use my home grown produce in, but I thought you might just like to see my delicious Sunday breakfast. I have to confess that I didn't make it myself, Mick usually cooks breakfast on a weekend so I passed the recipe to him and away he went. Doesn't it look delicious?
I've had a good blueberry harvest this year, it's about time as the last few years have been lean, but it looks like we're back on track again.
I'm the chief pancake maker in our house as Mick isn't usually very successful with them but he did himself proud with these.
If you've got an abundance of blueberries and would like to try this recipe, it's the American Blueberry Pancakes on the BBC Good Food website, a great place to find recipes.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you do try them, the blueberries give a delicious tang against the sweet syrup, yum yum.

ReplyDeleteThey tasted delicious. You're welcome anytime.
DeleteA delicious breakfast indeed, and a great blueberry crop by the looks of it! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm picking blueberries every day, they seem to ripen overnight. It was a delicious breakfast, I'm putting my order in for the same again next week.
DeleteThey look, and sound, delicious. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteThey were, I can't wait to have them again.
DeleteOooh they look really scrummy.
ReplyDeleteHave the Grand children staying for the next few days, think they will go down a treat.
Tks Jo.........
I bet your grandchildren would love them, they really are delish.
DeleteDelicious I m drooling . I have read your earlier post about giving your parents a veg box, I am so jealous. Such colour and there is certainly no taste like home grown
ReplyDeleteThat's so true. I don't think supermarkets can compete at all with home grown, for taste or freshness.
DeleteOH MY GOODNESS!!!
ReplyDeleteYes please!
Those look delicious!
My blog address has changed, it's now tlcukjourney.blogspot.com
I lost all of my contacts and I'm slowly finding them all and adding them back to my list!
I hope you have a great week,
Tammy
These could become a regular feature of my Sunday mornings.
DeleteIf only we had enough blueberries ;(
ReplyDeleteIt's a few years since I've had such a good blueberry harvest, it's been worth the wait.
DeleteGood grief, I've said it before, I'll say it again, that man is a gem. There were lots of blueberries on my bushes this year, but a family of blackbirds have had the whole lot. I haven't had the heart to stop them. They're looking beautifully healthy though. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteHe's not bad. Blackbirds love blueberries, as you've discovered to your cost. My bushes are in containers quite near to the house so the birds tend to leave them alone, it's just the odd blackbird who decides to brave it, I suppose the blueberries are just too tempting.
DeleteThat's really appetizing! Look so yummy!
ReplyDeleteThey were yummy, everyone wanted seconds.
DeleteIt all looks yummy. We have masses of blueberries to use up too.
ReplyDeleteX x
I can't think of any better way to use them up than in blueberry pancakes, nom nom.
DeleteIt's my 1st year for my blueberries so I can't wait for their crop next year, and the following years. My later raspberries are beginning to ripen.
ReplyDeleteI've had a few years where my blueberry bushes haven't produced very much at all so it's nice to have a good year. We all enjoy them so it's good to have enough to go round.
DeleteOoh, what a delicious looking breakfast and even better cooked for you! I wonder if I should try blueberries in pots not thought of that?
ReplyDeleteBlueberries grow really well in pots as you can control the medium they're grown in. They like an acidic soil so it's easy to just fill a container with ericaceous compost.
DeleteOh your Sunday breakfast look decidedly good Jo. No doubt you passed your compliments on to the chef.
ReplyDeleteHe did very well considering pancakes aren't his forte, he's a very good cook otherwise though and I certainly did pass on my compliments on Sunday.
Deletesince Mick was so successful with those, you must encourage him to do more cooking! It certainly worked for me. Until a few years ago Jane did about 99% of all the cooking, but these days the balance has changed.
ReplyDeleteMick does cook, in fact when I was working, he used to cook 90% of the time. It's only his pancakes which usually turn out a little iffy. He actually enjoys cooking which I'm pleased about as he's only too happy to get in the kitchen and give me a night off.
DeleteYum Jo, you can't beat a good pancake for breakfast, especially using your own produce. Lucky you getting them cooked for you as well, wish that happened here.
ReplyDeleteMick always cooks breakfast on a weekend, I'm very lucky. It made a change having blueberry pancakes, I'm hoping I get the same again this weekend.
DeleteWhat an absolutely delightfully scrummy looking breakfast. Heaven on a pretty plate! Yum!xxx
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't only delicious, it was presented beautifully too. I think watching Masterchef is finally paying off.
DeleteThat does look delicious - well done to your husband.
ReplyDeleteIt was very tasty, he did a great job.
DeleteI'm drooling at the sight of those. Think I'll be trying that one soon. Thanks for the idea. :)
ReplyDeleteYou must try them, they're absolutely delicious. The sweetness of the syrup contrasts so well with the sharpness of the blueberries.
