Following on from my last post, I thought I'd show you a few more of the photos I took in Golden Acre Park last Sunday. Autumn treasures are plentiful, there's so many subjects to photograph at this time of year.
I know it's not in the post title but I thought I'd throw in a few lichen photos for good measure.
I'm not a lover of autumn, purely because of the cold weather it brings and also the fact that the descent into winter begins. It does bring some wonderful photo opportunities though, and I can't get enough of the blazing colour and wonderful textures. I'm hoping that the weather is good enough this weekend to get out and about with my camera again.

Beautiful images and wonderful subjects
ReplyDeleteI think nature throws up the best photographic subjects of all.
DeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteI must remember to look closer at small things
Have a wonderful week-end!
Lea
There's so many treasures to find when you look for them.
DeleteAll fascinating, and they make good photographic subjects. I tend to agree with last paragraph. I hope that you have a good weekend, it looks like being a wet one here. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a great time of year to be out and about with the camera. I'm not sure what the weather holds for us here this weekend, I must check the forecast.
DeleteLovely photos Jo but unlike you Autumn is my favourite season.
ReplyDeleteI think Autumn is a favourite season for many people. It isn't hard to see why, but it's a little cold for my liking with an even colder season on the way.
DeleteThey look so beautiful in your pictures, I will have to start looking a bit closer xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what you notice when you're looking through a viewfinder.
DeleteAutumn or spring, I can't make my mind up, must be spring I like the most because of new beginnings, but Autumn colours and berries.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Summer is my favourite, spring second because of the new beginnings and everywhere looking so fresh, autumn third because of the colours and the least said about winter with its short days and cold weather.
DeleteLovely photos. We are so lucky to have (at least) two excellent parks in Leeds.
ReplyDeleteWe're very lucky. We've got some beautiful parks in Leeds as well as woodland and countryside on the doorstep.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful photos, the colours and textures are wonderful, especially the mossy stone and the lichens. Wishing you a good weekend. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a great time of year for colours and textures, there's so much to see.
DeleteJo, you are certainly "branching out" in terms of your photo subjects. Lovely pictures! Most of the berries on my Cockspur Thorn (aka "Fish tree") have gone now. I have watched the pigeons eating them. They try to edge carefully along the branches, which bend with the extra weight, so upside-down pigeons are a common sight!
ReplyDeleteThere's so many things to photograph at this time of year. I love watching the birds in the garden. We have a cotoneaster right outside the window and the blackbirds sit and feast on the berries, wonderful to watch. The pigeons in your garden sound positively acrobatic, they must be a sight to see.
DeleteI love autumn days when it's dry and you can walk in the woods amongst the fallen leaves. I think it brings out the inner child remembering when we used to pick up acorn caps, seed heads and other bits and pieces to bring to school for the nature table! Love mosses and ferns and would like to grow more ferns in our garden. Lovely photos from your walk.
ReplyDeleteScrunching leaves underfoot remind me of my childhood. Photographing things like moss brings you up close with them and it's easy to see them as a garden in miniature.
DeleteI love moss and lichen. Lichen is a sign of clean air.........I always feel so pleased when I see it growing on the trees in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI also love moss, I used to dream of having a Japanese moss garden :)
The weather here is damp....I hope it is better your end and your are able to get out and about with your camera.
There was lots of lichen on the trees in Golden Acre Park. I think moss, like fungi, is fascinating, especially when you get up very close to it and can see all the minute detail. We've got damp weather too, lots of rain through the night and very misty today.
DeleteSome really great autumnal images Jo! You are certainly getting to grips with that new camera. I hope that it is dry enough for you to get out and about this weekend. Have a good one :)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying using it, though I was a little daunted at first. It's a bit wet and misty here today, I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow.
DeleteI love looking at details like these too, they are amazing aren't they. Nature really is a wonderful thing isn't it. xx
ReplyDeleteNature really is amazing, such tiny detail. Looking through a viewfinder really does make you more aware of it all.
DeleteLovely Photos Jo - so glad you didn't come across any lions, tigers or bears! Jane
ReplyDeleteNo lions, tigers or bears, just lots of dogs having a wonderful time in the woods.
DeleteVery inyrresting mosses!
ReplyDeleteThey're fascinating. They're like little gardens in miniature.
DeleteI love autumn - love all the seasons, really, for different reasons. Lichen is fascinating. We have quite a lot in our garden.
ReplyDeleteThere's so many fascinating things to see at this time of year and they make great photographic subjects.
