It's always nice to receive awards for my blog, so I'd like to thank Bluebell from At Home In The Country for bestowing the Kreativ Blogger Award up on me.
I'm supposed to reveal ten things about me which you don't already know, but I've done so many of these in the past that I feel you all know me so well already. Therefore, I'm going to break the rules and not reveal anything today, however, if you really want to read ten random facts about me, a trawl through my past posts will reveal all.
Another rule I'm going to break is how many blogs I pass the award on to. I gather that I should give the award to ten blogs, but being the rebel that I am, I'm going to nominate only one.
So, without further ado, I'd like to pass the award on to Louisa at The Really Good Life. Her blog has the tag line Where growing, frugality & good living come together. Do take a look at her blog as I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Oh thanks so much for the award!
ReplyDeleteI very much enjoy your blog too - I read every post even if I don't always comment. It's lovely to follow people close by - references to places I know and "enjoyment" of the same Yorkshire weather :)
It's well deserved! Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteWell done :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I'm not following Louisa, I often pop by to read her Blog. I think I just forgot to move her from my Faves to the Blog List, so thank you for reminding me :) Mo
Well Done Jo on your award - very well deserved!
ReplyDeleteGood for you too breaking the rules - i did too a while back as its both time consuming and hard to think of anything interesting to say, and to find 10 blogs!.
Can honestly this time that our courgettes are flowering - saw them with my own eyes!
So hopefully we'll be gettig some courgettes too!
Bella finished her exams today - hooray! - has Daniel too?
Have a great weekend Jo
Gill xx
Without meaning to be derogatory about the Kreativ Blogger Award and other such things, which are admirable in their own way, may I humbly suggest that the Blogging community adopt the style of award that I used for my "Marksvegplot Chilli Award" (details on my blog), which is an honest and easy way for us to recognise other bloggers that we admire, without putting them to too much trouble and/or embarassment. Many of the awards in circulation operate on the Chain Letter principle and they soon run out of steam.
ReplyDeleteGood idea and glad it isn't just me who broke the rules! :-)
ReplyDeleteI will have a look at The Really Good Life.
Congrats on the award, well deserved. Good on ya for deciding your own rules as it makes it more meaningful (in my opinion).
ReplyDeleteDear Jo, Congratulations! You deserve loads of kudos for your blog! I think it's great you made your own rules, though, for responding to and passing on the award. I think these award programs are particularly useful for new bloggers. They give the newbies encouragement, and the pass-it-on lists introduce other garden bloggers to them. Personally, I can no longer participate in these programs - I long ago ran out of steam. P. x
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Louisa. I enjoy reading your blog too. Glad you accepted the award.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Flighty.
Thanks, Mo. Glad to be of service.
Thanks, Gill. Glad to hear your courgettes are flowering, it won't be long until the glut appears. Daniel's last exam is on Friday, I'll be glad when they're all over.
I'm quite happy to accept these type of awards, Mark. In fact, I'm thrilled when someone considers my blog good enough to be given an award, and I think very hard about the blogs I pass the award on to too. Most of them do come with rules attached, but you're not going to be given any kind of punishment if you break them, it's just a bit of fun. When passing on the award I usually let people know that they're under no obligation to accept the award, I realise that some people prefer not to take part, but it's always nice to know that someone considers your blog good enough to receive one.
Thanks again for the award, Bluebell. Hope you like the blog I've passed it on to.
Thank you, Kelli.
Thanks, Pam. I agree about new blogs, it's sometimes hard to get your blog noticed and these awards do help. I always like to look at the blogs that awards are passed on to too, I find lots of new blogs to read that way.
A belated congrats on the award Jo...I am just playing catch up again!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya.
