It's Giveaway Time

It's the 1st of April today which means that I've now been blogging for six years. I started this blog shortly after I took on my first allotment plot to follow the progress I made. Since then, I've moved to a new allotment site, taking on a new plot. That was about eighteen months ago now. I'm still enjoying both my gardening exploits and writing this blog as much as I did when I first started.

It's become a bit of a tradition on my blog anniversaries that I host a giveaway and this sixth anniversary is no exception. First up is this paper potter. It's the time of year when lots of seeds are being sown and it's so easy to run out of pots. This paper potter ensures you'll never run out of pots for your seeds again, strips of newspaper can be turned in to biodegradable pots in seconds. It also ensures that there's no root disturbance when planting out your seedlings as you can plant them as they are straight in to the soil. The reason the price is still on the box is not because I want you to know how much it was, it's because I started taking the label off but it's making a mark so I've left it where it is.

We're always looking for gardening bits and bobs at this time of year, and running out of them if you're anything like me, so I've included a few gardening essentials in the giveaway, peat pots, plant labels and jute twine.

If you'd like to be in with a chance of winning the above items, just leave a comment on this post before noon on Friday the 10th of April 2015. A winner will be drawn at random.

I'd like to thank everyone who visits my blog, many of you have become friends over the six years I've been blogging and it's been a pleasure to get to know you all a little better through the world of blogging.

  1. I would love to be in a chance for the give-away Jo...not the paper potter though as I already have two of these in different sizes so don't put my name in for that bit...just the peat pots and stuff!!!

    1. I've popped your name in the hat, but it's all one prize so perhaps you could find someone who would appreciate the paper potter if your name gets pulled out.

  2. So very generous of you to offer a gift on your blogiversary, but don't include me in the draw. Actually you'd not be able to send some of it overseas anyway. Congrats on the six years and I can't believe that you run two blogs and keep them up so well. I struggle with one. Take care.

  6. Hi Jo, and congratulations on another Blog Anniversary - and the blog is still as good as ever! Please enter me into the draw for your giveaway. Those things you are offering are (as you say) all things that we gardeners need lots of at this time of year. Recently I spent some time removing the writing from a mass of plastic plant-labels. This indelible ink stuff is all very well, but....

    1. Thank you. I've popped your name in the hat. I tend to write plant labels for one of the pots in a batch leaving the rest of the batch blank and then wonder what they are when they get mixed up.

    1. It's always good to start them young. I wish I'd had my allotment when my kids were younger, they were in their teens by the time I took it on and it wasn't long until they lost interest.

  16. Happy blogiversary & congratulations on 6 years! Too bad I'm not in the UK...how generous of you to have a giveaway & with such useful items too!

And thanks for the inadvertent reminder....you made me take a quick look to see when my blog anniversary is and it's tomorrow. I have a busy day ahead (including volunteering at a farm for the first time - I'm so excited!), but hopefully I can squeeze in a post.

  17. Happy 6th year bloggiversary, Jo. That's quite an achievement. Great giveaways again. Wish I qualified to participate, but no longer have Mom to give my winnings to. She loved that garden ornament! Here's to many more years of blogging, my friend. P. x

  20. What a lovely giveaway, really like the paper potter. I have been saving card tubes ready to cut and fold into pots, as you say to minimise root disturbance. Don't put me in the draw as the postage would be too prohibitive. Have a great Easter xcx

    1. I used to save toilet roll inners to sow certain seeds in to, but I'm not convinced that they work all that well so I stopped. I'm sure the paper potter will better.

    1. Thank you. I like the idea of the paper potter and making your own pots out of old newspapers, it's got to be better than disturbing the roots of plants as they get tipped out of plastic pots. I've popped your name in the hat.
