Lilac

It didn't take long for the hyacinths which I bought at the end of November to burst in to bloom. I was hoping that they were either lilac or blue so I had a pleasant surprise.

They're now filling the house with their beautiful scent.

I think I'll buy some more to see me through the festive period, they're so cheap and cheerful that you really can't go wrong.

    1. I prefer the blue range in hyacinths rather than the pink one.

  5. Oh now that's a most thoughtful hyacinth coming into flower now Jo and a most attractive colour too. Not keen on the pinks either.

    1. It's flowered at just the right time, it should last through Christmas and then I'll buy some more to see me through in to the new year.

    1. They're cheap enough to keep replenishing them once they fade.

  8. Gorgeous, and I love the deep purple colour of the bulb as well. I haven't had any hyacinths for ages, I might pick some up if I see them. CJ xx

    1. I think there's a darker pink than those we're used to, I might look out for some of those and see if they'll change my mind to pink.
