The Tour de France Grand Depart sets off from Leeds tomorrow.
This display, part of Britain In Bloom, is round the corner from my house, outside the local primary school.
We'll be departing ourselves tomorrow, heading out of the beautiful county of Yorkshire and on to another beautiful county, Cornwall, where we'll be spending the next fortnight.
Fingers crossed that we get some good weather.

I'll be waving back. Thank you.
DeleteI have seen several of these yellow bikes in peoples pictures, but not one with a flowerpot man doing the cycling!! This is brilliant! So much fun. Happy holidays! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful, isn't it? I got a real surprise when I took Archie for his morning walk and came across it.
DeleteAnd we'll be trying to keep out of the way of the other Grand Depart
ReplyDeleteI can't say I'm all that bothered about it but I'd have probably gone in to Leeds to see it if we were here, afterall, it's a once in a lifetime thing.
DeleteI do love those yellow bikes!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely, now you have a fab holiday and have a drink on me!!!xxx
The yellow bikes are everywhere at the moment. I shall raise my glass to you tomorrow evening when I'm all unpacked, settled down for the evening and looking ahead to the next fortnight.
DeleteI like the design of this corner. Both of soft and hard material are so beautiful, a great combination.
ReplyDeleteAll the children were excited to see a flowerpot man riding a bicycle outside their school. It's a fun display.
DeleteHope you all have a lovely couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We've arrived safely and the weather is lovely so far.
DeleteLovely little Britain In Bloom display you have near you Jo. Hope the weather is nice for you and you enjoy your holiday!!
ReplyDeleteOur little town received a Silver Gilt in the Britain In Bloom awards for 2013, I'm sure they'll do as well, if not better, this year. I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time, thank you.
DeleteHave a lovely holiday :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm really ready for a nice relaxing break.
DeleteHave a great holiday Jo. I love how Yorkshire has embraced the grand depart and 'decorated'.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we will. There's so many places decorated for the Grand Depart, Yorkshire has done itself proud.
DeleteI love the display.....wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Cornwall.....I visit every year, it holds my heart and many treasured family moments
Hope the weather is sunny and warm.
The weather has started off really well, I hope it continues for the rest of the fortnight. We love Cornwall, and Devon too, I'm sure we'll be holidaying here for many years to come.
DeleteHope you have a fabulous time in Cornwall. Just got from there myself. Happy holidays. x
ReplyDeleteThe holiday has started well, though we've had some rain. Hope you had a wonderful time, Cornwall's a beautiful place.
DeleteThat is a great display and we watched as much as we could of the two days in Yorkshire. It was on late at night here. Of course I loved it. Hope your holiday is going well and you are nice and warm. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI think Yorkshire made a great effort with everything for the time it was here. We're having a lovely time so far in Cornwall, the weather is mixed but there's still plenty to do.
DeleteHope you get some wonderful beach weather, Jo. It makes such a difference, although there's still plenty to do and see in Cornwall. Looking forward to reading about your holiday when you get back.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't really had beach weather, but as you say, there's still plenty to do. I'm hoping that we get some more sunshine in our second week.
DeleteLove that display! Hope your weather cooperated for the second week of your vacation. P. x
ReplyDeleteThe second week was still mixed, but we had a lovely time.
DeleteOh what a colourful display Jo. We've just returned from a holiday in France but were not anywhere near the Tour route. Would love to see the peleton whizz pass. I imagine that you've enjoyed some good weather this last week and hope that you've had a brilliant holiday. Look forward to hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really in to cycling, or many sports for that matter, but if I'd been at home I think I'd have had to join in just so that I could say I'd been there. We had some lovely weather in our second week, but still some rain too. It was a very mixed fortnight.
