Do you remember my Waiting In The Wings post from the 1st of May? I told of how my Golden Wings rose had, at last, been planted in the garden. I didn't notice the little bud on it at the time, but looking back at one of the photos, you can see it quite clearly. Here it is on the right hand side of the bush.
It didn't take long for that bud to open and here it is, taken on the 4th of May, in all its glory.
Isn't it beautiful? Such a pale yellow, just as I like, and the scent is fabulous, so sweet.
There's no sign of any more flowers at the moment, but I don't mind, this one will keep me going for a while.
Twelve Days Of Christmas 2024

This is my eleventh post of this kind. For eleven years now, my friend Lisa
and I have been swapping twelve small gifts at Christmas, one to be opened

Oh wow that was quick, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice the bud when I planted the rose so it was a lovely surprise a few days later when it bloomed.
DeleteYep, it does look nice. Hopefully more blooms to come...
ReplyDeleteI hope so, though it may put it's energy in to getting established this year.
DeleteI don't think ours on the plot has a flower yet. I'm in the process of looking for a single flowered climber for the cold frame are of the garden and so far Meg is calling to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure whether I'll get more flowers this year or not, no sign of any yet. Have a look at British Roses where my rose came from, it was packaged really well and the plant looks nice and healthy.
DeleteIt looks stunning. And like Joanne says very quick to bloom.
ReplyDeleteX x
It was really quick to bloom. I love the single roses best, nothing fancy about them, just beautiful.
DeleteIt is beautiful Jo! I can almost smell its lovely fragrance from here! xx
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what its scent was like, I just liked it for its bloom, but I'm not disappointed, it has a lovely fragrance.
DeleteThat really is a lovely rose. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteI'd been looking for a rose like this one for a long time, I'm glad that I finally found one.
DeleteHow pretty x
ReplyDeleteIt really is, a real beauty.
DeleteSo pretty xxx
ReplyDeleteIt has a beautiful scent too, I'm very pleased with it.
DeleteWonderful, it's going to be stunning in time.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to it putting on some growth and being covered in flowers. It's only small at the moment but I'm sure it'll fill out.
DeleteThat is absolutely gorgeous. I'm sure you will lots of blooms in june. I just love a scented rose.xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it, I've been looking for something similar for a long time so I'm pleased I finally found it.
DeleteBeautiful Rose.......very soft in colour. Hmmm I can almost smell it from here :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pale colour, just a hint of yellow, more of a coloured cream. It has a gorgeous scent.
DeleteA most attractive soft yellow Jo. Hope that you get more blooms this year but if not it will be worth the wait for it to mature and flower prolifically.
ReplyDeleteIt's taken me a long time to find this rose, but I knew just what I wanted so it was worth the wait. I'm hoping that it settles in well, so if that's at the cost of flowers this year, I don't mind.
