Blog Of The Month - November

This year, I'm dedicating one post each month to Blog Of The Month. This is where I feature a blog I'm enjoying reading. Some blogs will be new to me, others may be blogs I've been reading for a while. I hope that by doing this, I can introduce some of my readers to other, interesting blogs, though I know that some of you will already read the blogs I feature.

My Blog Of The Month for November comes from Scotland and is written by Rozzie. Grow My Own Eden is a new blog, there's only twenty two posts so far, but I enjoy reading a blog right from the beginning and following the journey. I've gone back and read all of Rozzie's posts, which are really interesting.

Gardening in Scotland can be hit and miss because of the weather, but it doesn't put Rozzie off, as you can see, she makes good use of her greenhouse and packs it to the rafters.

I was really interested in some of the things which Rozzie is growing, things I haven't tried myself such as goji berries, cucamelons, okra and sweet potatoes, not to mention an almond. I'm looking forward to hearing more about these and everything else which Rozzie is growing.

I'm sure there'll be plenty for Rozzie to blog about over the coming months as she is going to try and overwinter various plants. I'll be especially interested to hear if she manages to keep the aubergines growing as I'm sure they'll benefit from being established early in the year.

If you haven't yet had a chance to pop over to Rozzie's blog, do try now as I'm sure you'll enjoy reading it. Don't forget to tell her that I sent you.

  3. Thanks Jo. It is the joy of blogging to discover so many people with a shared interest but then with their own personal story. It is fascinating to read about how different people cope with different climates and finding out what they grow.

  4. Oh thanks Jo for a most timely reminder to vist Rozzie who kindly commented on my blog recently. Will be interested to read how she got on with cucamelons. My only seed to germinate curled up its toes at a young age. Maybe I will be able to discover where I went wrong :)

    1. It looks as though Rozzie got her cucamelons a little further on than you did. I've never tried growing them before but I'm fascinated now.

  6. Rozzie was one of the winners of my recent seed giveaway, which brought her blog to my attention. Like you I am impressed with her decision to grow some unusual things. I think you have probably backed a winner here!

    1. I'm always impressed by people who grow something different. My allotment is filled with basic veg, things which I know we'll all eat.

  8. Wow!! I was looking through my blog reader, as I refresh it every day to catch up on the latest posts from my favourite growing and foodie blogs and I literally thought to myself, "Why is there a picture of my greenhouse on here? Blogger must be broken and mixing in some of my posts with the ones I'm following." But this is far better!! I'm so touched to be featured on a blog that I adore so much!! I'm also interested to see how some people have commented here about the actual things I grow, I'm glad people find it so interesting, and think I might do a post soon about my experience thus far with cucamelons now. Thank you SO much Jo, I'm touched and thrilled! :)
