Why oh why didn't I go to the allotment to collect my Christmas veggies on Thursday? Instead, I left it till yesterday when it was raining cats and dogs and I got thoroughly wet through. Unfortunately, my sprouts just aren't good enough, so it's shop bought for another year, and my leeks are just far too small, so all we've ended up with for our Christmas dinner plate from the allotment is parsnips. They'll be delicious anyway.
As you can see, Archie is already in the Christmas spirit and is waiting for Santa Paws to arrive.
Happy Christmas to you all - love his expression!
ReplyDeleteHave a good Christmas! Flighty xx

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Jo. I went to the allotment and got soaked. In fact it has been so wet and the paths on the plot are so slippy I nearly ended up doing a comedy fall. Good job nobody was around to see it. Hope you have a lovely Christmas.Wellywoman.
ReplyDeleteShame about the leeks and sprouts - snap.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Christmas and a big thank you for the time you take to comment on my blogs.
Haha, love the christmas photo! My sprouts will also not grace the table until spring but I managed onions, carrots and spuds from the Veg Patch in my Xmas dinner. It came down here too on Thursday - just managed to move a cherry tree, plant garlic and clear a couple of beds before I realised that my coat was soaked and my back drenched! Now enjoying a post Christmas cold! Ah well! Happy Christmas Jo, and thanks for a year of good blog reading. Caro xx

Hope you had a great celebration Jo. I had only parsnips from the suburban veg plot for the Christmas table this year. I harvested them on Christmas Day itself - but only had as far to go as the bottom of the garden...
ReplyDeleteDear Jo, Oh, how I wish I had planted parsnips this year -- carrots were just not the same. Your Christmas photo is adorable! Happy New Year! P. x
ReplyDeleteBet those parsnips were good? Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2012.
