I'd just like to thank everyone who pops by my blog. I'm so lucky that I have many regular readers who comment often and who I class as friends, but there are many more readers who never leave a comment. Every visit and comment is very much appreciated. I'd like to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous 2011, and here's to a successful growing season too.

There's nothing like a bargain is there. Happy Christmas to you too
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic bargain Jo - well done - let's hope that many of the things in our gardens will survive through to 2011.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a bargin that rose was. I was hoping there would be a few bargains to be picked up before all the new stock comes in after the christmas decorations have disappeared, but I haven't been so lucky yet.
ReplyDeleteAnd a happy New Year to you too! We just came home with a bottle of Arthur Bell's famous tipple for the festivities! Our favourite warmer-upper after a chilly winter walk over the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Jo that is a bargain!
ReplyDeleteA very Happy Christmas to you and your family too!
Such a shame you won't have your own Christmas spuds this year.

Superb bargain Jo, have a great Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGreat Bargain!!!!! Nadolig Llawen - Merry Christmas in Welsh!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done you! I will have to visit Homebase soon ~ normally only a ten minute walk but don't know how long it would take me to skate there at the moment:) I hope that you and your family enjoy Christmas Jo and wishing you good growing in 2011 xxx
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I hope it does well for you. I do love roses.
ReplyDeleteKat
I feel happy for the Rose, as well as for you! How sad would it be if that poor plant was destroyed because no-one would buy it even at such a knock-down price? Let's hope it goes on to repay you with some fine blooms next Summer.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Jo; looking forward to more good stuff on your blog after the holiday.
Mark.
Wow, that's a fantastic price. I have an Arthur Bell in my garden and it does very well with lots of flowers. Its one of my favourite roses. Best wishes for the holidays, Kelli.
ReplyDeleteI love a bargain and that was a brilliant one. Have a great Christmas and best wishes for 2011 from Kent. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Su. I'm always on the look out for a bargain.
ReplyDeleteI hope they survive too, Green Lane Allotments. The frost has been thick here for days now with no sign of any let up.
I thought they'd wait to make any reductions until after Christmas, HappyPlotter. I was lucky that I just stumbled on this bargain.
Thank you, Vegetable Heaven. Enjoy your Arthur Bell's, I think you'll definitely need a warmer upper in this weather.
Thank you, Jeanne. I still haven't checked the potato containers so it might be that there are a few there, we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks, Damo. It's not often that I come across such a good bargain.
Thank you, Nellilou. Thanks for visiting my blog too.
Thank you, Anna. I don't usually visit Homebase, it's not local, but I might have to go a bit more often if they have bargains like this.
This is the first rose I've had, Kat, though I've been looking out for a yellow one for some time. I'm hoping that it does ok in a container.
Thanks, Mark. They had loads more roses at 50p too. I do hope they get snapped up. There was a climber which I would have liked but nowhere to plant it.
Thank you, Kelli. It's nice to know that your Arthur Bell does well and gives lots of blooms as I picked it up on impulse without having read up on it. I hope mine does as well as your's.
Thanks, Amanda. It looked like Homebase was having a good clearout, there was lots of things around the store reduced.
Lucky you, that's a real bargain. I love yellow roses and really must get one for the plot.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your posts and commenting on them Here's to many more! Flighty xx
Thanks for your lovely comments, Flighty. I love yellow roses too, I was very lucky to pick up such a bargain.
ReplyDeletewow...what a Bargain. I hope it grows well for you!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great bargain! I am sure the rose will grow perfectly on your garden.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a very happy new Year!
Thanks, Tanya. I don't have any experience with roses so I'll be winging it a bit.
ReplyDeleteA belated Merry Christmas to you too, fer. Happy new year.
