They had two Tayberry plants left and I picked the shorter, bushier one because as far as I'm concerned with fruit its a marathon not a sprint. £2 is a bargain and about the only berry I didn't have in my collection. I haven't seen figs in Morrisons before, but I've seen similarly packaged gooseberries and raspberries, and lots of ornamentals too, and they usually have them in for a while at this time of year. Our fig tree in the back garden was planted when we moved in about six years ago. We have another in the front garden that was transferred from a pot and is not so big, but still doing well because it gets a lot of sun where it is. We started getting mature fruit about two years ago.
